As we posted before, the Spanish children did come [phew!] and we had an AMAZING time! We met up with them at Northumbria University and escorted them, in a coach, around Newcastle and Gateshead.

First we visited the Angel of the North! We all raced up the slippy hill and tried [but didn’t succeed!] to climb up the ENORMOUS steel made sculpture.  We then rolled down the hill covering ourselves with mud and grass stains [we weren’t popular when our parents saw!].

Later on we jumped back on the coach and started to head toSaltwellPark, where we raced around the green maze, then had a mystical walk through the woodlands.  After a while, we went to the junior park and had a park of a time! We all played on the HUGE roundabout and slid down the rocket slide!  Soon we all had built up an appetite and we decided to have lunch! We went on the field and ate our lunch!

And finally, we went to the Quayside and crossed the millemium bridge, where we bought delicious ice creams from the ice-cream shop [yum yum!].   After that us high spenners were dropped back off at school and we said a tearful, final goodbye to our Spanish guests.  What a fantastic day!
