On the 9th of November,10:45 High Spen Primary School’s remembrance service took place in the memorial garden. Retired soldiers met us at the service. There were many tears as we sang Abide With Me with pride. We also observed the two minute silence to respect soldiers that fought and are fighting in the war.
Some soldiers traveled to countries like Berlin and Dunkirk to defend Great Britain at the ages of seventeen and above! People gave their today for our tomorrow. Children gave us their thoughts and feelings. Amy Corr from TY said “I feel thankful because soldiers saved our lives.” Emily from MLK said “I’m sad but grateful .”
