Today marked one of the most important dates in the High Spen Calendar. It was great to our friends from the DLI join us for our annual Act of Remembrance.
The service is always a moving occasion, seeing members of our extended school community (from 4yrs to 21yrs+) come together to pause for thought.
This year’s service was made all the more special by the arrival of some winter sunshine. The sun poured through the solider silhouette, creating a perfect ‘sunshine solider’ on the commemorative stone (the first time many of us had seen this happen). In case the true marvel of our statue was not enough, there was also a HUGE rainbow stretching over school – a truly special moment in the life of a truly special school.
