Hearts Melted in the Spen!
If the EY Twinkly Nativity was not enough to melt your heart (and how could it not - #utterlygorgeous), then the sight and sound of our School Choir would have tipped you in to festive decline!
Our amazing choir, spread Christmas cheer through the village by first walking up to see a very dear friend of school who has not been in the best of health recently, before then walking back to Dovecote to delight the residents there. Looking Out for Each Other at its best!
Now all we have to do is persuade Mr Fumoleau to take off the spectacular golden gown that Auntie Diane made!
Updated as we have permission to share this touching note from our friend at the top of the hill x
To the High Spen Choir....
I wanted to try and explain to you all why you should be so proud of what you did by coming to see me today and sharing your wonderful voices.
I've been quite poorly recently and I'm having a big operation next week that will make me all better again.
I will have to stay in hospital over Chrismtas so that I can get better.
I've been a bit sad about this recently because I will really miss my family, my friends and my children over Christmas.
BUT....the thing that I love most about Christmas time is that even if you don't celebrate Christmas or if you don't have lots of money for expensive gifts, you can always give the best Christmas gift of all...
The gift of joy.
You guys took the time to walk up that awful hill in the freezing cold and gave up your lunchtime to share your talents and give me the gift of joy.
That is something really special!!! I hope you all know that!
So, when you go home tonight, you must remember to be so proud of yourselves for giving your own time and your love to someone else just to make them happy.
With love from Saz xx
